This case, which settled during jury selection, involved our client, a 30-year old construction worker, who was severely injured as a result of a fall from a scaffold he was working on. In this case our client, a home health aide from Ghana, was crossing the street when the defendant, who was texting and driving, lost control of her vehicle impacting the plaintiff at high speed. Miraculously, our client lived through the ordeal, however she was caused to suffer extensive injuries including fractures of her foot, arm, clavicle and hip, as well as trauma to her head and torso.
During a ventral hernia repair surgery our client’s colon was caused to be punctured by the general surgeon performing the procedure. Due to an inadequate repair of the hernia our client went through a truly horrific post-operative course including the development of a colocutaneous fistula, over a month long hospitalization and the need for multiple additional surgeries.

At trial in Bronx Supreme Court the jury returned a verdict of $510,350.00 on behalf of our client, a 59-year old construction worker who was caused to suffer two fractured bones in his foot when the scaffold upon which he was painting suddenly collapsed out from under him. Due to the nature of his injuries he was unable to have surgery performed, however his injuries left him with a permanent disability.

Our client, a door man for a luxury Manhattan apartment building, was viciously beaten and repeatedly kicked on the ground by an intoxicated tenant on Christmas Eve, which caused multiple fractured bones of his knee, thigh and right leg necessitating major skin grafting procedures due to the extent of the damage.
Following the completion of a lengthy trial, and while the jury was out deliberating, a settlement of $365,000.00 was reached for the wrongful death of our client, an 89-year old man who was admitted to the hospital with a mild lung infection, which was improperly treated. Due to the hospital staff’s negligence what was initially a relatively minor infection was caused to develop full blown bilateral pulmonary edema and pleural effusions, or a collection of fluid around the lungs, and despite a lengthy battle by our client resulted in his wrongful death.
In this case our client, a 65-year old woman, was in the process of retrieving her shopping cart with the defendant’s grocery store when a defective automatic entryway door was caused to swing forward. As a result of the door striking our client she was caused to fall to the floor suffering an extremely painful and debilitating fracture of her pelvis.
